Aliaksandr Kabanau is a blogegr based in Brest, author of the YouTube channel "People's Reporter", and press secretary of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's nomination group.

Kabanau disappeared on June 15, 2020. The blogger was sentenced to 15 days of detention, but ended up in a pre-trial prison in Minsk.

On April 14, 2021, Judge Volha Krauchanka of the Kastryčnicki District Court of Mahilioŭ sentenced Kabanau to three years in a general-security penal colony, finding him guilty of organizing group actions that grossly violated public order (Article 342 of the Criminal Code) and insulting a government official (Article 369 of the Criminal Code).

On December 14, 2021, the court decided to change Aliaksandr's treatment to high-security one, and on December 21, 2021, Aliaksandr Kabanau was transferred from Navapolack prison to Mahilioŭ prison No. 4.

The political prisoner served his term in full and was released on December 17, 2022. Kabanau's health seriously deteriorated while in custody.

After his release, Aliaksandr left Belarus.

In March 2023, it became known that Aliaksandr Kabanau was facing a number of other criminal cases.
