Aleh Halubouski

Aleh Halubouski from Baraŭliany was detained in August 2022 as part of a criminal case for ‘group actions grossly violating the public order’  (Article 342 of the Criminal Code) for his participation in 2020 protests in Minsk.

On January 9, 2023, in the Savetsky District Court of Minsk, Judge Volha Yemelyanchanka sentenced Aleh to 3 years of restricted freedom without sending him to an open-type correctional institution.

The political prisoner was released from custody in the courtroom.

He was included in the list of Belarusian citizens, foreign citizens and stateless persons involved in extremist activities.

On September 2, 2024 the Minsk District Court considered the case of Aleh on "substitution of restriction of liberty without sending him to an open correctional institution". Judge Artsiom Manzhos sentenced Aleh to five months in a penal colony.

After the trial, Aleh was taken into custody and is being held in pre-trial detention center No. 1.
