Aliaksandr Konanau was convicted for participating in the 2020 protests.

He was accused under Part 1 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code ('Organization and preparation of actions grossly disrupting public order or active participation in them').

On July 10, 2023, in the Frunzienski District Court of Minsk, Judge Yuliya Krepskaya sentenced him to 12 months of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony.

Four more political prisoners were convicted together with him on that day: Uladzimir HanusevichAlbert HarbuzSiarhei Hlinski, and Maksim Stashulionak.

Konanau was released from prison on October 21, 2023.
