Aliaksandr Veliasnitski is a former military officer who condemned the violence by security forces after the 2020 elections.

He was detained in Stolin for publishing comments on the Internet in connection with the deaths of IT worker Andrei Zeltser and KGB agent Dzmitry Fedasiuk.

On September 26, 2022, the Brest Regional Court found Veliasnitski guilty and sentenced him to 2.5 years of imprisonment in a general security penal colony.
