Dzianis Haponenka was arrested at his workplace in Homieĺ on December 23, 2021. He was charged in a criminal case of group actions grossly violating public order (Article 342 of the Criminal Code).

On April 5, 2022, Saviecki District Court of Homieĺ found him guilty under part 1 of article 342 of the Criminal Code. The prosecutor requested to punish Dzianis with 18 months of imprisonment. However, Judge Alina Koshkina sentenced him to 12 months of imprisonment.

In early June, Haponenka was transferred from remand prison #3 in Homieĺ to colony #15 in Mahilioŭ.

The political prisoner served his full term and was released on October 1, 2022.
