Dzmitryi Suhaniayeu is from Brest. In 2019 he graduated from the Institute of Journalism of the Belarusian State University.

He was arrested on April 19, 2022. In the “repentant video” he “confesses” to having participated in the post-election protests and blocked the traffic in 2020.

Suhaniayeu was charged with Article 342 of the Criminal Code (Organization or active participation in group actions grossly disrupting public order).

On June 30, 2022, in the Saviecki District Court of Minsk. Judge Maryna Fiodarava found Dzmitryi Suhaniayeu guilty and sentenced him to three years of restricted freedom in an open-type penitentiary. He was released in the courtroom awaiting the commencement of his sentence.

On November 21, 2022, Dzmitryi Suhaniayeu began serving his sentence in open-type penal colony #17 in Homieĺ.
