Illia Yahorau is a defendant in the Brest trial of the "dancing protest" initiated after the events of September 13, 2020, when protesters danced on the road in central Brest and were dispersed by a water cannon.

He was charged under Art. 342 of the Criminal Code (active participation in group actions that grossly violate public order).

On August 30, 2021, the Lieninski District Court of Brest sentenced Yahorau to 30 months of “khimiya” imprisonment, after spending five months in pre-trial detention.
