Siarhei Melyanets, a Christian preacher, was detained on March 20, 2024, in the Minsk City Court, where the case of journalist Ihar Karnei was being heard. Siarhei attended the court hearing to provide spiritual support for Ihar.
Siarhei was initially sentenced to 13 days of administrative detention, followed by additional 12 days.
He subsequently left the country.
