Valeryi Viskirski was arrested for 'distributing extremist materials' as an administrative offense. While serving his administrative arrest, he was charged with a criminal case for numerous likes on the Odnoklasniki social network.

On March 14, 2023, the Kastryčnicki District Court of Hrodna sentenced Valeryi Viskirski to five years of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony under six articles of the Criminal Code:

  • Part 2 of Article 367 ('Slander against the President of Belarus')
  • Part 1 of Article 342 ('Organization and preparation of actions grossly disrupting public order or active participation in them')
  • Article 370 ('Desecration of the state symbols')
  • Article 369 ('Contempt of a public official')
  • Part 2 of Article 366 ('Violence or threat of violence against an official performing official duties or other person performing a public duty')
