Viktar Rysinski was sentenced to 12 months of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony for tearing down the official state red-green flag of Belarus under Article 370 of the Criminal Code ('Desecration of the state symbols').

On March 4, 2022, after the verdict was passed, he was taken into custody in the courtroom and placed in remand prison #3 in Homieĺ.

The political prisoner was sent to penal colony #3 (in Vićba, Viciebsk) to serve his sentence.

In March 2023, Viktar Rysinski was released after serving his sentence in full.
