Volha Salamenik was convicted under Part 1 of Article 356 ('Treason') and Part 2 of Article 295 ('Illegal actions with firearms, ammunition, and explosives') of the Criminal Code. The details of the case are unknown, as the trial was held behind closed doors, and the criminal case is classified.

It is known that Volha Salamenik was kept in the KGB remand prison for a year, where she was on a hunger strike. Then she was transferred to remand prison # 1 in Minsk.

On February 24, 2023, Volha Salamenik and Uladzimir Tryfanau were added to the 'List of extremists'.

On October 26, 2022, the Minsk City Court sentenced the political prisoner to seven years and six months of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony. Judge Valiantsina Ziankevich tried the case.
