Aleh Zykun was charged under Part 3 of Article 203-1 of the Criminal Code (Illegal actions related to information about private life and personal data).

Zykun lives and works in Brest as a urologist in the regional hospital. In the winter of 2023 he was arrested for donations. On July 25, 2023, he was detained on administrative case, and on September 18, 2023, he was detained on criminal case and was remanded in custody.

The trial was conducted by Judge Maryna Skalkovich.

On January 5, 2024, the judge completed the consideration of the criminal case. Human rights activists do not yet know the sentence passed on Aleh Zykun, but according to the charges, the man may face up to 5 years of restricted freedom or up to 5 years of imprisonment with a fine.

On August 20, 2024, he was pardoned and released.
