Cases: Protests in Baranavičy

On June 15, 2023, Viachaslau Kalavusau was convicted under Article 205 (Theft) and sentenced to two years and six months' imprisonment.

At the time of the politically motivated trial, he was currently serving a sentence under the previous article. The individual has a total of nine convictions since 1999, including three following the 2020 protests (including Article 341 of the Criminal Code - "property damage").

On June 14, 2024, the Court of Baranavičy and Baranavičy District initiated proceedings in the criminal case under Article 342 of the Criminal Code (Active participation in group actions that grossly violate public order). 

Upon aggregating the sentences handed down in this and the preceding criminal case, the defendant was ultimately sentenced to three years of imprisonment in a maximum-security penal colony.
